our work:port coquitlam

Bathroom renovations can be tricky because it may seem hard to know what to do with the available space.

In this Port Coquitlam renovation project, we tackled an ensuite bathroom and powder room in the same property.

The ensuite started life in a lovely shade of salmon pink with what the client described as “hideous” brown/gold tiles that weren’t even on straight! We knew that keeping the space light and bright was important to the client and we were lucky that the bathroom was actually quite large and spacious. So, we installed a white tile on the wall to keep that spacious feeling.

We were able to install a large countertop with a lowered area next to the bathtub in white quartz. Over the vanity, we placed a large ornate mirror to break up all the lines. On the walls, we placed sconces with an ‘X’ shaped detail which reflected the cross pattern used in the porcelain, wood effect floor tiles.

In the downstairs powder room, we had to work around the existing black floor which couldn’t be taken up so this became the inspiration for the space. We chose a bold flower print wallpaper which was mostly black and white. The paper itself had a noticeable shine to it which added a fresh light feeling to the room. We then added classic white wainscoting and mixed and matched the suite and accessories from Kohler to finish the room.
